I have discovered that happiness doesn't come from money or what you buy, it comes from who you surround yourself with and how well you feel about yourself, for example, to give somebody something and to get nothing in return but a reaction makes you feel good about yourself. My truth of happiness is writing, Although I am normally not a person for writing I actually found something that helps me relax.
The number one challenge I faced during this project was actually doing the work, At first I had no interest in doing any of it during the happiness experiments, although I did work on the posterboard and taking pictures and writing some facts for the poster board with my partner.
I did this project with a partner and I grew as a learner by getting to know myself and other people more. Being with a partner did impact me due to the fact that I work better with certain people and the two of us being partnered up wasn’t a very good idea.
If I could refine this project, I would have chosen a different partner and I would try to see if I could work with a bigger group cause being in a bigger group of people means we divide the assignments upon one another and it really helps me and other people because all of us are only responsible for a couple things for our group instead of having to deal with a load of assignments.
In this project, I feel like I have grown as a learner and w because I really didn’t know at first what socialisation was or how adults and even society can shape a person so much to make them hate themselves or even make them feel like they don’t belong. I feel like in this project I learned and seen so much just from being shown how people think and their point of view. I have learned so much from this project and I feel like now I realize that we as Americans, are not as great as we think we are. This project has shaped me better as a writer because I can find in myself and others what society has really been doing to us and really show how I have been socialised..
My largest takeaways from this project is that I now know how things like racism still exist and how to work from my own perspective. The mask was one part of this project that really showed me how to put my words into a painting and show myself.
My goals as a group worker was to get things finished on time and to make our socialisation video professional.
I contributed to our group exhibition by making the video and making sure it was appropriate for our viewers. I also contributed by bringing some things in for the group like speakers and black lights.
